Students will work with the same partner from the previous activity, however both players will now use Pickleball Racquets and Pickleball ball. Each pair will move to a square marked out by cones with a centre line that divides the square in two creating a half each. One student will be the thrower, whilst the other will be the hitter. The ball will be tossed to one side ten times, then to the other side until players swap roles. The hitter will return the ball back to the thrower by striking it using the correct technique. Once this task has been completed, students will now both use racquets simultaneously and hit the ball back and forth across the centre line creating a rally. Once enough time has passed to allow students to practise, instruct students to hit the ball to each other without it bouncing on the ground at all, known as a "volley." Again, once students have had enough time to practise this skill, progress to putting all skills together. Each pair will compete against each other by hitting the ball back and forth until a point is awarded.
- If the ball is hit out of the playing boundary a point will be awarded
- When the Pickleball Ball bounces more than once inside a players half, a point will be awarded as the ball is only allowed one bounce
Allow students some time competing against their partner and to practise the skills. Once the time is up, see who managed to beat their partner.
