Circle - children and parents in pairs around teacher "Kids On The Boat" (tune of "Wheels On The Bus")

Variation: Have children stand on island and do actions together.

Pick Up Objects - P01

Parent initiates submersion Pick up object from bottom of stairs Line - child on stairs

Start with child sitting on stairs, toy at feet, work through progressions: 1) reach for toy, 2) with bubbles, 3) with face in if ready. Put toy at appropriate depth. Starting OFF the stairs, child with teacher/parent, teacher/parent initiates ready swim and help child submerge to appropriate depth.
