One partner practices serving the ball over the net. To serve, the player stands one foot in front of the other (if they are right handed, their left foot will start forward). They will throw the ball 1-2m above their hand with the same side arm as their front foot. They then hit the ball with their other arm with a closed fist, making sure their palm is facing down and striking over the ball when making contact. The partner on the other side of the net will collect the ball and practice the serving technique back.
Children will be in pairs one on each side of the net. One side will be designated to pass or serve the ball with the correct technique, with the other team returning (passing the ball back with correct technique i.e fists clinched and forearms flat facing up.) After a period of time the pair will then swap sides and continue doing the activity but swapping roles.
Students will be split into two even teams with each team lining up on opposite sides of the net. The coach will then yell out a number, either 3, 4 or 5, and that amount of students will then run from their line onto their side of the court. When a team scores a point they will then all run back to their teams line and then wait until their next turn. A team can scores a point by; the other team touching the net, the other team hitting the ball outside of court, the ball landing on the opponents side twice in a row, the ball going under the net, or the ball touching somewhere on the opponent that is not their arm or closed fist.
