
Create a playing area (large rectangleshape ) marked out by cones, or can use lines on a court as the boundary. Select approximately 2-5 taggers (depending on numbers in the group) to wear bibs, while the rest of the group will stand at one end of the court. Taggers will stand at the half way point of the playing area and called out "octopus" signalling that everyone must run to the other end without being tagged. If tagged, you are frozen to the ground where you were tagged and can reach out to tag other players running past (not allowed to run/step, can only sway side to side and reach with arms). The last person that has not yet been tagged is declared the winner. They will become the new tagger for the next round.
RULES:
- If a player runs out of bounds, they will be frozen to the ground back inside the playing area (roughly where they ran out)
- The only taggers that can run are those wearing bibs
PROGRESSIONS:
- When tagged, you are frozen where you were tagged but now can be rescued. The tagged player must create a tunnel with their legs for someone (a player that has not been tagged) to crawl through - this will set the player free. The rescuer can not be tagged while saving the frozen player
