Handball

Divide the group into two even teams, one non-bib and bib team. Assign each team half of the court each with a scoring zone at each end (either a net or 2 tall cones) where players will throw a ball through the goal. Ensure the playing area has out lines (whether it be played on a court with lines, or a field with cones marking the boundary) to restrict/increase space and ball movement. In front of the goal, mark out a semi circle (lines on court or cones) with a radius of roughly 5-8metre that will be a boundary line for the goal keep.

To commence the game have a tip off in the centre of the court. Once a team has possession of the ball, they will only be allowed to take 3 steps before having to pass the ball. Passes can be made in any direction to teams mates (forward, backward, sideways etc) whilst working their way up the court to the goal. Players can only hold the ball for 3 seconds.

Once close enough, a player can throw the ball at the goal to obtain a point. If done so successfully, the goal keeper will retrieve the ball and pass to their team mates working their way up the court to try and score.

Can inforce a rule that players have to make 3 passes in a team before attempting to score. If ball is intercepted the 3 passes have to be made again, but if it is simply deflected or dropped they do not have to be made again.

Three P's - optional

- players can only take three steps with ball

-  can only hold ball for three seconds

- have to complete three passes before shooting

RULES:

- No players (except goalie) are allowed inside the goal keep zone at any stage through the game. Change over goalies after each goal is scored.
- If an attacking player threw the ball at the goal but had their shot blocked by an opposing player who was not the goal keeper, a foul/penalty would occur resulting in the attacking team having a free throw at goal from the edge of the goal keep boundary.
- If the ball is thrown out by a team over a side line, a throw in from other team is awarded. If it is thrown over goalie line by any team, then it is goalie ball.
- Defenders are not allowed to tackle/rip the ball free from an attacking player. Instead they must intercept passes made to create a turnover.
- Defenders must be approximately 1 metre away from the player with the ball (will ensure the defender wont get hit).
- If a ball is dropped, the first team to get it gains possession. If two teams get it at the same time, either tip off or free pass from team who had it last (ref decision).

PROGRESSION:

- An attacking player would obtain 2 points by jumping and throwing the ball in mid air at the goal before landing. If an attacker threw the ball at the goal with both feet on the ground, 1 point will be awarded.
