Pair up students in the group and have them positioned along the halfway line (if on a court, otherwise a space of 10-20metres between students and the target/number board). The student at the front will have the bow, whilst the partner at the back will hold three arrows. In their own time, students will load the bow with an arrow and shoot at the target.
PROGRESSIONS:
- "Around the world" - students hit the lowest number on the board and work their way in numerical order to the highest number on the board.
- "Bingo" - coach/ref can call out numbers to aim for (e.g. a five) and if a student hits it they yell out BINGO!
As an alternative, if you do not have a number board, gear that can be used as targets include:
- cones
- cricket wickets
- buckets
- rugby balls/soccer balls (they will roll if hit)
- flag poles
- hula hoops
