What helps us hit the target?
How could you make hitting the target easier?
Who won their games?
Get students into pairs standing opposite each other about 4metres apart. One ball each. Students roll the ball towards each other. If the ball hits in the middle, the pair score a point. If the ball misses, the pairs don’t score a point.
Throwing the ball and making it clash in the air. Move closer or further apart to alter difficulty. Change the size of the ball to make it easier or harder. Kick the balls instead of rolling using your hands. Join pairs of students together and make all of the balls in the group clash.
Increase the distance between the throwing line and the target. Use their non-dominant hand to throw the object underhand. Send the object in a different way (e.g., overhand throw). Use an implement (e.g., hockey stick, racquet) to send the object.
Decrease the distance between the throwing line and the target. Use only large targets. Choose which target they would like to try to knock down.
Students are split into two teams, the "Dodgers" and the "Rollers". Rollers stand on a spot along the sideline, with a ball each. On "Go" the dodgers must try to get to the finish line without getting hit by a ball. If a dodger gets hit then the person that hit them gets a point. If the dodger makes it all the way to the finish line without being hit then they get a point. Once all the dodgers are through, the whistle will sound and the rollers collect their balls and return to the spots. After the dodgers have had a few turns the teams swap over.
