Which jumps did you enjoy? Which jump was the one where you jumped far? What can we do to help us jump? (swing our arms, band our knees)
Define a playing area using the cones. Get the students to perform a range of jumping movements (high, sideways, one leg, like a kangaroo etc). Get them moving, forwards, backwards, circles, on their tip toes etc. When the coach calls “freeze” , the students try and stop quickly.
Spread out hoops in a defined area making sure they are jumping distance apart. Split children into pairs or small groups. The first player carries a beanbag and bounces through the hoops to the other side and back before handing it to their teammate. Players can only jump through the hoops when they are holding their teams beanbag.
Players can hop on each foot, two feet, sideways, back-wards etc
Define an area for the activity and spread out a number of hoops within the area (aprox 1 hoop for every 5 players). Select 2-3 children to be "foxes" and the rest are "rabbits". The hoops are “rabbit holes” or safe areas for one rabbit at a time. Rabbits are only allowed to stay in a rabbit hole for 5 seconds before moving on. When tagged by a fox, the rabbit has to perform 10 star jumps.
Rabbits must jump around (instead of running).
