Set up:
3 tall cones (Tupu) down each end of netball court with tennis balls on top. Circle these three cones in disc cones to create zone for guard to stand in (pawero).
Rules:
Each team deligate one person to standing in guard in Pawero. Rest of team split evenly between the three netball court zones to make defending, middle, and attacking players. (swap these positions at quarter/half time).
Game started by throwing ball into middle zone (Te Ao). Whoever gets first has posession. Point is scored by throwing ball at Tupu and hitting tennis ball off. If hit, tennis ball goes under cone until all three are hit. Everytime tupu is hit, ball is thrown back into Te Ao to restart with middle players.
The ball must be touched by the middle players in Te Ao before a shot at goal is taken. If the ball is intercepted, the intercepting team must pass the ball back to Te Ao before attempting to take a shot.
If ball goes out - opposing team throws in. If ball goes out behind Pawero, Tupu guard throws in.
Once all three are hit - game is over.
Depending on variation - players can either run with ball / take certain amount of steps until tagged or "ripped". Or can play game with no stepping with ball.
