Students are positioned around the parachute evenly and will be assigned a type of animal that they must remember for this activity. Examples of animals that can be used include; tiger, giraffes, elephant, rhino, zebras - using 3 animals will be best to make remembering animals less confusing. Have the students work together lifting the parachute simultaneoulsy until it reaches maximum height then let it fall to ghe ground on its own, then lift it back up folliwng this rhythm/pattern. When the parachute reaches its maximum height, call out an animal. For example if tigers were called out, all of the students that are "tigers" would have to let go of the parachute and run underneath it, swapping with another tiger. Repeat this whilst calling out different animals as you progress through the rounds.

RULES:

- A student may only run under the parachute if THEIR animal is called out
- Students are not allowed to push other students when running under the parachute

PROGRESSIONS:

- Once the parachute is at maximum height, the coach will then count down from 3 seconds. Once zero is reached students on the outside may pull the parachute down trapping any animals that have not made it out in time.
NOTE: As a further progression, you can eliminate animals that get trapped and for the rest of the game they will be holding the parachute and become a "trapper". The last animal left that has not been trapped with be the winner (last five players left will swap with any player they like as the coach will call out "everybody" for those that are still left).
